The first thing I want to tell you is, this isn't my first time with a blog. I've had a couple. My first one, I outgrew. I'm still fond of it though. And my second, well...sigh. I still have great plans for it.
I've been wanting to get back into blogging for quite some time, but I could never quite get inspired. Do I revive my old blog? I decided no because I feel like a different person than the person who wrote on that blog. Do I just stick to Pins? But, I have so much more to say than just Pins.
So, here we are. A sparkly, shiny, new blog
So why a new blog? Well, the past couple of years have been a challenge and I'm ready to come out of my hidey hole and write about it. I feel the electric current of change in the air and I'm both excited and terrified.
I decided to get my blog up and running now because next month is ADHD Awareness month. My 8-year-old son was diagnosed with ADHD in 1st grade. So, like I said, the past couple of years have been a challenge. But I'm ready to write about it because that's what I do; I write.
I want to credit my eleven-year-old daughter with the name of this blog. She was joking about how she has to wear a uniform to school this year and said she always wears, "tennis shoes and ponytails." And really, that kind of describes us as a family in a way. We're sort of laid back and care more about comfort than the latest, greatest trend.
I hope to make this blog like a kitchen table in a friend's home - a place to find comfort, support, information and, of course, a place to laugh. So, please do sit and stay a while. I'm looking forward to getting to know this blog and anyone who reads it.
